Playing off the Cistern’s unique 17-second reverberation, Marcus Maroney’s skill at weaving instrumental sounds together and juxtaposing them against each other will take you on a magical sound journey inside one of Houston’s most iconic spaces, based upon The Four Elements of Fire, Water, Earth, and Air.

Pianist Akiko Konishi and conductor Chris Dobbins with the orchestra of Washington and Lee University present the world premiere of a new work to celebrate Ms. Konishi's joining the faculty of the university.

River Oaks Chamber Orchestra’s 2021-2022 season opens with the belated world premiere of “Eye of the World”, conducted by Mei-Ann Chen. The piece is a duo concerto for flute and viola d’amore by Marcus Maroney, written for ROCO husband and wife musicians Matthew Dane and Christina Jennings.

This annual favorite continues in 2020! Ring in the new year with good food, good friends, and good music as the ROCO Brass Quintet serenades audiences at the Saint Arnold Brewing Company.

ROCO’s Unchambered series starts on October 19 with clarinetists Nathan Williams and Maiko Sasaki in a program ranging from Classical favorites to modern commissions. The concert, entitled “Mendelssohn to Maroney: ROCO Clarinetists Come of Age” features works by Stravinsky, Michael Tenzer, Gary Schocker, Marcus Maroney, Bela Kovacs, Felix Mendelssohn, Theresa Martin, and Amilcare Ponchielli.
